Color Our World: Summer Learning Program 2025

The 2025 Summer Learning Program, Color Our World, begins June 2, 2025 with Lebanon County Libraries! This program is geared for ages 2-10.

To participate:

  • Sign up at the library or online with Beanstack.
  • Attend programs.
  • Log your reading online using Beanstack, or pick up or print a log below or at the library.
  • All Summer Learning information, schedules, and reporting tools will be posted here.
  • Visit the library to borrow books, and also borrow books online from the eLibrary at https://lclibs.overdrive.com/
  • We’ll also share announcements on the Library’s Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/lebanoncommunitylibrary).
  • Return your completed activities to the library by August 8 to receive a special prize pack! If you aren’t able to do that you will still be able to receive books and prizes until August 23.

Choose how you want to log your reading and activities! Either log online using Beanstack, OR log on paper at the library!

Whether you log your reading on Beanstack or on paper, for every 120 minutes you read AND one activity you complete you’ll receive a free book to keep!

Programs:

Wed., June 11 3:30-5:30pm: Explorer Afternoons. Stop in for projects and games exploring art and science. For ages 6-12. No registration required.

Tues., June 17 10:30am-12pm: Welcome Summer! Crafts & Games. Drop in for activities, crafts, and sign up for Summer Learning!

Wed., June 18 10:30am: Summer Storytime. Stories are most appropriate for ages 3-6, but all are welcome. No registration required. Adults are asked to stay with children during the stories.

Wed., June 18 10:30am: Paws To Read. Kids ages 6-10 can sign up to read to a certified therapy dog.

Wed., June 18 3:30-5:30pm: Explorer Afternoons.

Thurs., June 19 10:30am: Kids in Nature: Bluebirds. Learn how you can help wild birds. We’ll read a story and build a bluebird box. For ages 7 and up. Registration is required due to limited space.

Sat., June 21 11am: Saturday Storytime Explorers.

Mon., June 23 6pm: PennState University Health Teen Cooking Class. Learn how to make nutritious, delicious food! For ages 12-18.

Tues., June 24 10:30am: Science Heroes: Adventure of the Missing Color. Talewise presents a storytelling science adventure!

Wed., June 25 10:30am: Summer Storytime. Stories are most appropriate for ages 3-6, but all are welcome. No registration required. Adults are asked to stay with children during the stories.

Wed., June 25 10:30am: Paws To Read. Kids ages 6-10 can sign up to read to a certified therapy dog.

Wed., June 25 3:30-5:30pm: Explorer Afternoons.

Thurs., June 26 10:30am: PennState University Health Kids Cooking Class. Learn how to make nutritious, delicious food! Most appropriate for ages 6-12, but all are welcome.

Fri., June 27 3:30pm: Mastodons, Cavemen, & Bears, Oh My! Paleontologists Mike and Roberta Straka introduce us to some Ice Age giants! Registration is required due to limited space.

Tues., July 1 10:30am: Animal Art Forms. Jesse Rothacker of Forgotten Friend Reptiles visits with some of his slithery, scaly reptile friends.

Tues., July 8 10am: Color Our World with Music. Join Mr. Boom Boom for songs, African drumming, and musical stories.

Wed., July 9 10:30am: Summer Storytime. Stories are most appropriate for ages 3-6, but all are welcome. No registration required. Adults are asked to stay with children during the stories.
