Finding Independence Through Technology

FITT is Going Away for A While

Do you know what’s great about our FITT classes (Finding Independence Through Technology)? You can learn tech skills from a real person, who is right in front of you, and who can show you exactly what to do with electronic device at your fingertips! Sadly, these are...

Access to Value Line has ended

Access to Value Line through the Lebanon County Libraries has ended. Low usage and the uncertain financial future led to the decision not to renew this resource. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

The library is now open in a limited capacity!

Library Hours effective 7.13.2020
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 10am – 4pm
Tuesdays and Thursdays 1-7pm
Saturdays 10am – 1pm
Please read before visiting the library!
  • Properly-worn face masks are required at all times. A properly-worn face mask covers both the mouth and the nose.
  • The number of people inside at one time is limited.
  • Grab-and-go service is encouraged. Because the number of people in the library is limited, you may be asked to leave after a certain period of time so that others may enter.
  • The number of public computers is limited to encourage social distancing, and the length of computer sessions is shorter. You may reserve computer time in advance – please speak to a staff member to do so.
  • There is very little seating available in order to encourage social distancing.
  • Children’s toys are not available.
  • Curbside service will continue during library hours.
  • Returned materials will continue to be quarantined for three days before being checked in and made available to the next borrower.
  • Water fountains are unavailable.
  • No in-person programs or classes are scheduled at this time.
  • Please use hand sanitizer or wash your hands frequently.
  • High-touch surfaces are cleaned regularly.
We are excited to welcome you back to the library! However, our primary goal continues to be the health and safety of our staff and the community. All of our decisions are based on that goal: to keep our libraries as places of learning, connection, and resource-finding, not as sources of infection. Since each of our libraries are independent and different in terms of size, layout, etc., please always check with your local library for their guidelines.

Curbside pickup will continue.

To request library materials, you have three options. You will need your library card.

  1. Visit and request items. Make sure your pickup library is Lebanon.
  2. Call us at 717-273-7624 ext 2 during library hours.
  3. Email us at

When each item becomes available for you, you will receive an email/text/phone call (according to your stated preference). While our computer system is not able to hold the notification until all of your items are ready, if you prefer to wait until several items are ready for pickup, please call or email us. We will hold your items up to 3 days while we wait for other items to become available. Please note that due to our quarantine policy (see below), we may not have all of your items ready for you at the same time.

Our curbside pickup hours are the same as library hours:

Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 10am – 4pm
Tuesdays and Thursdays 1-7pm
Saturdays 10am – 1pm

When you arrive at the library, please call us at 717-273-7624 ext 2. We will check your items out to you, bring them outside, and place them where you may retrieve them. Please wait behind the line. If you will need to pay a fine, you must wear a mask. Please return all library materials in the bookdrop even if a staff member is bringing other materials out to you.

Lebanon Library on Facebook

For the first time in its 25-year history, we will not hold the Benefit for the Children's Department this year due to the pandemic. However, the library still needs your support! With decreasing income and donations so far this year, but costs which remain steady and demand anticipated to increase, your support is more important than ever.

Please donate at or mail a check to Lebanon Community Library, 125 North 7th Street, Lebanon, PA 17046. Thank you!

Do you participate in our Summer Learning Program?

The Summer Learning Program is a time-honored tradition for many families, with multiple generations participating! Parents bring their children because they remember how much fun it was to participate when they were children themselves! Participating children avoid the summer slide, the decrease in reading skills while school is out, and explore new ideas with magicians, musicians, and more!

In 2019, we had eleven family programs at the library with over 5,000 attendees, plus 383 kids participated in our reading challenge!

The Summer Learning Program is supported in part by the United Way of Lebanon County, The Bishop Foundation, and the Friends of the Lebanon Community Library, but we still need your help. Please donate at or mail a check to Lebanon Community Library, 125 North 7th Street, Lebanon, PA 17046. Thank you!
