Tails and Tales

The 2021 Summer Learning Program, Tails and Tales, begins June 7, 2021 with Lebanon County Libraries!

This year events will be outside, next door on the lawn of the YMCA, but will move inside the library if the weather is bad. Please follow all of the library’s safety procedures while visiting.

To participate:

  • Attend programs.
  • Log your reading online using Beanstack, or print or pick up a log below or at your library.
  • All Summer Learning information, schedules, and reporting tools will be posted here.
  • Visit the library to borrow books, and also borrow books online from the eLibrary at
  • We’ll also share announcements on the Library’s Facebook page (

Choose how you want to log your reading and activities! Either log online using Beanstack, OR log on paper at the library!

Whether you log your reading on Beanstack or on paper, for every 120 minutes you read AND two activities you complete you’ll receive a free book to keep!



Tues., June 22 @11AM: Jesse Rothacker, Forgotten Friends Reptiles: “Reptile Explorers” Jesse Rothacker visits with some of his slithery, scaly friends.

Tues., June 29 @ 11AM: The Amazing Magi, Michael Reist: Fan-Tails-Tic Tales: The Magic of Reading and the Animal World: Magic, stories and songs with Michael Reist, The Amazing Magi

Tues., July 13  @ 11AM: Jeff Boyer: “Big Bubble Bonanza!” Interactive giant bubble magic with master bubble wrangler Jeff Boyer.

Mon.,  July 19  @   4PM: Center for Aquatic Sciences: Live Marine Animals Show. Meet some amazing aquatic animals from Adventure Aquarium.

Tues., July  20 @ 11AM: Lancaster County Parks & Rec. presents “Dino Tales and More!“ Dinosaur stories, games and activities with Lancaster County Parks.

Tues., July  27 @ 11AM: Lancaster County Parks & Rec. presents  “A Bat Tale” Learn all about these amazing animals with stories and a bat craft from Lancaster County Parks.

Keep an eye out for virtual storytimes, craft tutorials, and other events throughout summer on the library’s YouTube channel!
